What the inspection covers.
Andrew or one of his crew shows up, sets a ladder, and gets on the roof. We don't inspect from the driveway with binoculars. We walk every ridge, valley, and transition. We check the flashing, the boots, the pipe collars, and the drip edge. If something looks off, we photograph it right there.
After the hands-on walkthrough, we fly a drone to capture an overhead view of the full roof plane. This gives us angles you can't see standing on the surface. We look for pattern wear, sagging decking, and areas where granule loss shows up best from above.
When we're done, we come back down and show you every photo on a tablet or phone. We explain what's good, what needs watching, and what needs fixing now. If the findings point toward a targeted fix rather than a full tear-off, we'll talk through roof repairs and what makes sense. You walk away knowing exactly where things stand.
When to schedule an inspection.
Most people call us after they notice something wrong. That's fine. But the best time to catch a problem is before it turns into a leak in your living room. Here's when it makes sense to get us out there:
- Your roof is 15 years old or older
- You're buying or selling a house
- A storm just came through your area (see our storm damage and insurance page)
- You see missing or curling shingles
- There are dark streaks or stains on the roof
- Your energy bills spiked for no clear reason
- You noticed a water stain on the ceiling
- A neighbor just got their roof replaced
If any of that sounds familiar, it's worth a look. The inspection is free. The peace of mind is worth the 30 minutes.

What we're looking for up there.
A roof inspection is more than glancing at shingles. We're checking every component of the system, because a failure in one spot usually means trouble somewhere else. Here's what we go through:
- Missing, cracked, or lifted shingles
- Flashing around chimneys and walls
- Soft spots in the decking
- Vent boot condition and pipe collars
- Gutter attachment and drainage
- Ridge cap and hip shingles
- Attic ventilation (intake and exhaust)
- Signs of prior patch jobs or shortcuts
We've seen plenty of roofs in NW Ohio that looked fine from the ground but had real problems once you got up there. That's exactly why we do this for free. Better to know now than find out during the next big rain.
Drone documentation on every inspection.
Every inspection includes aerial drone photography. We fly the full roof and capture high-resolution images that show damage patterns, wear, and problem areas that aren't visible from roof level. If you need to file an insurance claim later, you'll already have dated documentation. If you just want to see your roof from a new angle, it's there for you.
The photos are yours to keep. We send them over after the inspection whether you hire us or not. A lot of homeowners in Defiance, Bowling Green, and the Napoleon area have used these photos to make better decisions about timing and budget for their roof work.
Honest assessment. That's the deal.
We're not trying to sell you a roof you don't need. If your roof has five good years left, we'll tell you that. If it needs a repair and not a full replacement, we'll tell you that too. Andrew runs every job and puts his name behind every assessment. That means we don't play games with scare tactics or inflated scopes.
This is a small business in a small town. Our reputation in Napoleon and across Henry County matters more than any single sale. That's why the inspection is free and the advice is straight. If you need work done, we'll quote it fairly, whether that's a simple patch or full residential roofing replacement. If you don't, we'll shake your hand and move on.
What a drone roof inspection actually shows you.
Most homeowners have never seen their own roof. They've seen it from the yard, maybe from an upstairs window, but not from above. A drone inspection gives you a view you couldn't get any other way, and it catches things ground-level inspections miss.
Full aerial photos of every slope
We fly the drone over every face of the roof and capture high-resolution photos. You see the whole roof laid out from directly above. If there are bald spots, hail hits, or missing shingles on a back slope you'd never see from the ground, they show up.
Close-up photos of problem areas
If we spot something on the aerial pass, we can bring the drone in for a tight shot. Granule loss. Cracked pipe boot. Loose flashing around a chimney. We give you those photos so you can see exactly what we're seeing.
Proof for insurance claims
If you're filing a storm damage claim, drone photos documented on a specific date are strong evidence. Adjusters take them seriously. We share the originals with you and your insurance company.
A record you can keep
Even if nothing's wrong with your roof today, having a dated set of photos is useful. Selling the house in a few years? Show the buyer the condition. Wondering if something changed after a storm? Compare to the baseline.
The drone is one tool, not the whole inspection. We still climb the roof when it's safe, check the attic if we can, and look at the flashing and vent stacks up close. But the drone gives you a view that used to cost thousands of dollars in lift rental to get.
Roof inspection questions.
Most inspections take 30 to 45 minutes. That includes climbing up, checking everything on the roof, flying the drone, and walking you through the photos on the ground afterward.
We prefer you to be there so we can walk you through what we found while it's fresh. But if your schedule is tight, we can do the inspection and send you the photos with notes afterward.
None. Zero. We inspect your roof, show you what we found, and that's it. If you want a quote, we'll give you one. If you don't, no hard feelings. We don't do high-pressure sales.
We physically climb up and walk the roof. A ground-level look misses too much. We also fly a drone to document areas that are hard to reach or see from roof level.
We cover roughly a 40-mile radius from Napoleon, OH. That includes Defiance, Bowling Green, Findlay, Wauseon, Bryan, Toledo, and parts of Northeast Indiana. If you're not sure, just call us at (419) 518-7799.
What inspection customers say.
"Andrew came out same day to check out a potential leak. It is a breath of fresh air when you have someone that you have never met come out same day and you completely trust their judgement."
"Andrew really took the time to walk me through different options. He even recommended not replacing it now because there was still life left. I was hesitant thinking they would just try to sell me a roof."
"Andrew came out and inspected and gave me the most reasonable price out of everyone. I booked him, gave him a deposit and the crew was out the next week."
